Looking Back and Looking Forward

As I think about all the changes in life that will be coming soon and the new chapter that hubby and I will be starting, I think it is great to look back and look forward.

ONE YEAR AGO TODAY (May 2012)

-- Hubby and I were planning and packing our bags for a vacation in Cancun. This is one of our FAVORITE vacation spots. We also began trying to conceive during this month as well.

5 YEARS AGO TODAY (May 2008)

Jerry and I were planning and packing to move into a townhome in our apartment complex. We had lived previously in a one bedroom flat apartment that was originally my apartment and at that point we were actually getting a place that was "OURS". We were so excited that it was a townhome and had bedroom loft upstairs and also a patio so we could have bbq's and outside living space. Also, we were busy with weekly happy hours. Going out with friends every Friday to various places. (we have so many pics from happy hour)

10 YEARS AGO TODAY (MAY 2003)

In 2003, Jerry and I had just began dating around October 2003. We were experiencing all the newness of a fun a relationship. We were spending just about every weekend together. I was learning him and he was learning me. I was working as accounting (SOX) consultant and I loved it. Basically, I was loving and living life.

1 YEAR FROM NOW (MAY 2014)
One year from now, Little Tucker will almost be one years old. I expect that I will be planning a 1 year bash for him. Hopefully he will be walking and almost potty trained (fingers crossed). Also, I hope we will be planning our first vacation since having baby. Life will be about seeing all of those firsts!

5 YEARS FROM NOW (MAY 2018)
Little tucker should be going to Kindergarten. This would be great and mean no more day care costs for him. hehehe. Also, we may have another little as well (hmmmm, we shall see). By this time, we will probably have moved out of our first home in to another home in our favorite community. Also, our weekends will probably be filled with kiddie functions (football practice, karate, etc). I can't wait for this as well as trips to the museum. Also, we will probably have lots of friends with kids that we meet during the functions/practices.

10 YEARS FROM NOW (MAY 2023)
Wow, now this is wayyyy in the future. Let's take a guess at it just for fun. This will be good to look back on one day and see how close I am. Little Tucker will be a BIG boy by this time. Again, he may have  a little sister or brother that is around 7 or 8 (again, we shall see). Life probably will have changed a bit. We will probably have a good mix of mommy daddy time mixed with time with the kids.

As I look at how life has changed from being on the scene every Friday at happy hour to eventually spending Fridays at some event for the kids, I am excited about what is to come and I look back on the past not as if I will miss those days but with the mind set that it would have to eventually change anyway. Hubby and I did and seen just about everything and do not feel like we will be missing out on anything. I am so excited to see life through a new set of eyes...Tucker's ....and enjoy the little things all over again.

Life is but a book. To see what happens next, you simply have to turn the page.

Here's to a new chapter......

Bump Update 36weeks (almost 37)

How far along? 36 weeks, 5 days (so almost 37 weeks). So, I am considered as "term". I think March of Dimes now considers "full term" as 39 weeks/

Size? According to my what to expect baby app
baby is the about the size of a watermelon (19 - 22in, 6.5lbs). But based on my doctor's appointment day baby is only about 5lbs 14ozs. So, he is just 2 ounces from being 6lbs.

Weight gain/loss? At my doctor's appointment, I weighed in at 158.4 I think. Or was it 164.8. Sorry, I have a preggo brain lol. It has to only be 158.4 which means This is a 1 lb gain for two weeks.

Maternity Clothes? same old same. Wearing whatever fits...maxi dresses, maternity jeans, big tops, etc.

Stretch Marks? None so far. Using bio-oil now in efforts to prevent any hopefully.

Wedding Rings on or off? On.

Sleep? Getting pregnancy insomnia now. I tired and yet sometimes I cant go to sleep. Or, I wake up got the restroom and cant get back to sleep.

Best Moment of the Week(s)?
1. Finding out that I was already 2cm dilated and 50% effaced (thinned out).
Seems baby may be coming sooner than later.

Miss anything?  I miss having NO hip pain.

Food Cravings/Aversions? Nothing specific this week. Just hungry lol

Gender? It's a BOY!!!!!! Tucker Louis Thompson (aka Little Tuck Tuck)

Happy or moody most? Happy one minute crying the next (happy tears of course)
Labor signs? Well, according to my doctor, I have been having contractions, but I guess I didn't notice them (since I am 2 cm dilated). After my internal/cervical exam today I did have a bit of cramping and backaches...wondering if my doctor jumped started something while she was in there...hmmmm lol

Belly button in or out? Flat, shiny and smooth hhahah

Looking forward to? tying up the last few things before Tuck is here. Hoping he stays put a couple of more weeks.

Few maternity pics on the beach

We had a free weekend (believe it or not!!) and we squeezed in one last trip to the beach (Galveston) before little Tucker comes.

The day we chose was sunny but very windy. We took tons of snacks, water and Gatorade. We went to Stewart Beach which is a family beach so no alcoholic drinks allowed (not that I could drink any anyway lol)

We hung out for a few hours. I love being by the water. The sound of the waves are so relaxing.

Before leaving hubby snapped some pics of me. I like the way they turned out.

So here they are:

and here's one that I changed to black and white. I think I may put this is Tucker's room.

I really want to enjoy many days this summer on the beach with Tucker. :-) Let's hope that the waves soothe and relax him as much as they do me.
